The AIDS Support Organisation (TASO), Uganda
The AIDS Support Organization (TASO) is a not-for-profit non-governmental organisation that operates nationally across Uganda. Its programming is based on global and national priorities such as the Social Development Goals (SDGs), Health Sector Strategic Plan, national development plans and global health initiatives. TASO started as a provider of HIV services and is a pioneer of novel health delivery approaches. It expanded its mission some years ago and now works within Uganda government health services in delivering care for all health conditions, including non-communicable diseases in over 100 health facilities.
TASO will play a major part in the design of the scale-up and in the implementation of the research in Tanzania and Uganda. It will contribute to the evaluation of effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of integrated care services compared to standard care and to project management.
